Hey all,
just thought I would share some of findings specifically relating to nutrition through my treatment for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
So typical 32 year old male, drink a bit too much and probably not eating right and then pow get the shock of my life and am diagnosed with HL.
Anyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy way, I was not big on the idea of Chemotherapy and the adverse effect this would have on my body. I attended every nutrition conference, naturopath, natural remedy course or program I could find. While a lot of these people out and out tried to talk me out of chemotherapy I could not discount the fact that while they claimed to be able to cure cancer naturally not one of the natural remedies had any evidence to back up their claims. Now I believe myself to be an intelligent person and somewhat of a punter so it made sense to me to take all the info I had gathered, roll it into one and go with what I felt what was best for me. After a massive amount of research I hatched my plan of attack and I went a little something like this.
Chemotherapy – It was a must and basically the only treatment to offer proof of a successful treatment. 12 treatments fortnightly ABVD
Naturopath – I found a lady that had claimed to cure her husband’s breast cancer naturally, I basically got onto the same supplements she gave him.
Vitamin C – over the counter
Vitamin D – over the counter
Apricot seed and linum formula – from naturopath
Fish Oil – Over the counter
Cell Protect – by _meta_genics
Herbal liquid – as made by naturopath
Green tea extract – by Dr Veras
Curcumin Forte – By pharma foods
Gogi berry powder – Any health food store
Flack seed oil
Diet - I was going to give my body all the support in the world to help it fight.
No dairy
Red meat once a week
No sugar – So no soft drinks, juice, lollies etc etc
Max 2 pieces of fruit per day (as they are high in sugar)
Vegies eat as much as possible as often as possible – raw
Green smoothies (1 per day) – take a cup of water, hand full’s of any green vegies, blend it up, drink it (sounds awful but now I love them)
No booze
No white potato
No bread
No fried foods
No takeaway food of any sort
No preservatives (you would be surprised what has them)
Why did I do all this well I thought about it long and hard after seeing this man Don Tolman
http://www.dontolmaninternational.com/If you can’t get to see him buy his book..................and follow it. There is nothing new here basically it’s the way we ate before Mc KFC Jacks came along and pre packaged food.

Chemotherapy amongst other things was going to destroy my white blood cells and I looked at ways of boosting them naturally and giving them the best chance, green vegies (spinach) are high in Iron and known a s a blood food so hence I was drinking green spinach in the form of a green smoothie like my life depended on it. You want to keep your body in a low acid environment, to mach sugar causes a build up of acid in the body (even good sugar from fruit) Do explains things very simply like how cancer can be seen as little rubbish dumps in your body where all the crap has built up, basically the body is a series of tubes and it’s about keeping them clear and free from blockages. I realise I sound like a crazy nutter, I thought the same but here I am cancer free and healthier than ever. It is very in depth and takes ages to explain but if any one wishes to know more you are welcome to contact me and I will give you as many tips I can that worked for me.
So yeh it worked for me.............I didn’t stop work during my treatment, I dint get sick and even my specialist was blown away at how I recovered.
Just a story on my journey..........so far
