Hi guys,
Jojo, I feel for you and your daughter. I mentioned on another entry that I was diagnosed with ALL(BcelG) in May and am going through the Fralle 93 protocol which has about a dozen or more LP’s for treatment. They can be unpleasant so I understand what Carly is experiencing. I ended up with some shocking low pressure headaches that lasted 2 weeks from the first few of these LP’s, one of which was given to me on my 31st birthday and I begged the Dr to bring one of those giant margaritas instead

. Of course he didn’t. I’m now ending the first intensification phase which was the second hard phase and still have one intensification phase to complete early next year. Day by day I’m improving and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and it feels so worth it to keep fighting.
I don’t know what advice I can offer except it is important to ride out the lows as much as you both can and grasp the highs with both hands and live life to the fullest because those memories will get you through the next round of chemo. The treatments for ALL are long and cyclical in the ups and downs so hang in there, speak to people to vent your worries and keep fighting.
My favourite quote:
“Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it will last forever.”
