Hi Cera
It would be wonderful to have an event organised around his visit - perhaps some of the 'Revive' members would be able to meet in person.
I'm heading over to Houston, Texas next month to attend the Lance Armstrong Foundation's LiveStrong Young Adult Alliance Conference. If I have a chance to meet him there, I'll have to do some serious sweet talking about the Leukaemia Foundation!
Worth a try DanT

Treatment going to plan thanks DanT and Cera. I have felt pretty ordinary over the last few weeks which is why I’ve been laying low. I got out of hospital early in the week so the effects of chemo over the last few weeks should be subsiding over the next few days – I hope.
It’s great news on the Lance and Live Strong front and hope you all the success in Texas – lucky thing. Don’t take no for an answer. Looks like my third intensification and hospitalisation starts when the TDU is on so I won’t be getting to SA any time soon. My partner spoiled me and got me some of the Live Strong cycling gear which really lifted my spirits the day I got home.
Take care all.

Hi Tri Man
Although it's not great to hear that the chemo is starting to making you feel pretty crappy, it is good to hear it's all going to plan. Honestly, at this stage of the game, you can't ask for much more than that! (Except perhaps shiny new cycling gear )
Do you have a break until Intensification numero tres in January?
Have you experienced 'roid rage yet? That'll lose you a few points with your girlfriend!
Don't worry, I'll be on my (organic) soap box over in Texas, telling everyone who'll listen that services need to be improved for young adults in Australia! If I have the chance, Mr Armstrong will certainly hear about Revive and how much we need advocates like him here in the land of Oz.
Anyhow, stay strong, drink your protein drinks as much as physically possible (I hated that ENSURE stuff) and perhaps you'll be back on your bike soon. Let us know how you're going.

Hi Danielle,
Yeah treatment has been very tough. I ended up back at RPA with mucosa (ulcerations?) up and down my throat from some pretty ordinary vomiting. The chemo was tough enough but then to spend another week under observation strung out on morphine was not nice. I topped the scales with a loss of 15kg this time but am back at home eating and getting things back to normal again, improving day by day. So, I’m looking forward to getting back out there again soon, having a wonderful Christmas and trying out my new Livestrong cycling outfit. Just have to keep telling myself only one more nasty round to go then (I hope) it’s all behind me and bring on the good times! The next one is a maintenance phase which should be quite easy from all accounts, although I’m not sure how I will react to the cranial radiotherapy. Will let you know, but that’s not for weeks – probably January.
Thanks and take care, Tri Man

Heya Tri Man
Mucositis has to be up there with one of the most awful things I've ever expereinced so I really feel for you!! I couldn't lie down for weeks because of the pain, and had to 'sleep' upright. To be honest though, I didn't mind the morphine, probably because it made me too hazy to care.
On the plus side, if there's ever a time to be putting on weight it's Christmas - the protein-rich turkey will do you wonders! There's nothing as healing as being back home. If I were you I'd forget about your next lot of treatment and enjoy yourself. You can do all the worrying about radiotherapy later.
Take care Dan
